KRICHARD J. GOUGHNOUR
Acting Mission Director, USAID DRMA

Richard Goughnour was assigned to the USAID Regional Development Mission for Asia as Acting Mission Director in October 2017. Prior to this position, he served as Mission Director for Brazil, the Dominican Republic, and Peru from 2002 through 2010, and as the Acting Mission Director for the East Africa Regional Mission, Brazil and Mexico on an interim basis from 2010 through 2016.

Mr. Goughnour’s responsibilities as a USAID Mission Director have included strategic planning, host government and implementing partner coordination, staff development and the design and implementation of numerous development activities addressing trade and economic growth, poverty alleviation, social inclusion, democracy and good governance, education and public health and environmental protection. Specific to the East Africa Regional Mission, he also managed one of the Agency’s largest regional service platforms, providing a full range of procurement, financial management, legal and administrative services to over 20 bilateral client missions, in addition to overseeing an extensive regional development portfolio.

 

MICHAEL A. CALVANO, Ph.D.
Chief of Party, USAID COMET

Dr. Michael Calvano has over 40 years of experience in education and telecommunications development in the Asia and Pacific Region. He was the Regional Representative for Asia and Pacific for the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), a United Nations agency, and has managed numerous projects for international non-profits, including the Education Development Center, Inc. He has also consulted for the private sector. Dr. Calvano has held various academic posts in the United States and abroad.

Michael earned his Doctor of Philosophy degree in educational psychology/instructional technology from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, a Master of Science degree in psychology from the University of Connecticut, and a Bachelor of Science degree from Georgetown University.

 

KENNETH BARTLETT
Professor and Associate Dean, College of Education and Human Development, University of Minnesota Organization

Kenneth R. Bartlett (Ph.D. University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign) is Professor of Human Resource Development in the Department of Organizational Leadership, Policy, and Development and Associate Dean for Faculty Development and International Initiatives in the College of Education and Human Development at the University of Minnesota. His research program is focused on the process and outcomes of human resource development, organizational change, and leadership.

 

ANSHUL SONAK
Regional Director – Innovation& Education Programs, Greater Asia Corporate Affairs Group, Intel Asia

Anshul is responsible for managing Intel’s education & innovation programs and communications for democratizing innovations skills among next generation in partnership with governments, academia, developmental agencies, media, think tanks & global opinion leaders. He also oversees Intel Foundation’s STEM programs across Asia. He has over 22 years of worldwide leadership experience in education technology & innovation for sustainable & inclusive development. He travels globally for speaking & advising on topics like learning, skills & jobs for future, youth empowerment & employability, education & STEM transformation models, inclusion & open innovation ecosystem development.

 

SUTHINEE LEELAHEMARATANA
Program Manager, Social Innovation Group, Cisco Systems (Thailand)

Suthinee has been involved in the STEM sector for more than 10 years with 5 years in Cisco focusing on ICT education platform also known as “Cisco Networking Academy Program” and regional workforce development program on gender equality and career advice for youth & Early In Career. Suthinee graduated Master Degree in Food Science & Technology from Kasetsart University with research scholarship at National University of Singapore.

 

PRAPAI NUMTHAVAJ
Senior Advisor, Petroleum Institute of Thailand

Born in Thailand, Mrs. Numthavaj holds a B.Sc. degree in Chemistry from Kasetsart University, Bangkok (1977), a Master’s degree (1984) in Energy Planning from Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand.

Mrs. Numthavaj has worked in the area of hydrocarbon analysis for the Government of Thailand as chemist in the Mineral Fuel Division, Department of Mineral Resources.

She joined the Petroleum Institute of Thailand since 1991 and has worked in various capacities in technical service, information service, public policies and regulatory issues and finally in human resource development. Mrs.Numthavaj has played a key role in coordination and networking in the petroleum and petrochemical field in Thailand. One of her successful programs is the Chemical Engineering Practice School or “ChEPS” program.

 

NGUYEN THANH BINH
Dean, Information Technology Faculty, DUT

Nguyen Thanh Binh graduated from The University of Danang - University of Science and Technology in 1997, he got a PhD degree in Computer Science from Grenoble Institute of Technology (France) in 2004. He is currently associate professor of the Information Technology Faculty, The University of Danang - University of Science and Technology (Vietnam). He is dean of Information Technology Faculty at The University of Danang, University of Science and Technology since 2010.

His research interests include software testing, software quality and software engineering.

 

HEAN SAMBOEUN
Director of Cyber University and Multimedia Center, Institute of Technology of Cambodia (CUMC, ITC), and Deputy Director of Graduate School.

Mr. Samboeun earned his Master of Science in Computer Science, AI-System, Taganrog Institute of Technology, Southern Federal University, Russia 2010. Besides, Mr. Samboeun also earned professional Certificate in Network Security and Instructional Design for Online Course Development (Pre-Master level) from New Zealand, South Korea and Japan respectively. At CMIC, ITC, Mr. Samboeun has developed long-term, short-term plans and strategic details for achievement. Also, Build strong relationships with various partners for e-learning development and teaching pedagogy in Cambodia.

 

LY THIEN TRANG
Director of International Education Exchange Center, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE)

Ms. Trang has been working for HCMUTE for 18 years in different positions: administrator for GTZ project – TVET German Project funded by German Government to HCMUTE in the field of Electrical & Electronic Engineering and Mechanical Engineering, Vice Dean of High Quality Center, Deputy Director of International Education Exchange Center, Deputy Head of Office of International Relations, Director of International Education Exchange Center of HCMUTE. She has been working as a program coordinator for the joint-program in collaboration with University of Sunderland, UK since 2010. She organized many updated training courses for engineers from industry, vocational teachers from Vocational Colleges/Schools nationally. Recently, she has attended the project of Ministry of Education and Training, Vietnam: Internationalization of Higher Education in Vietnam. Since 2016, she is an administrator of USAID COMET at HCMUTE.

 

VO THI QUYNH NGA
Vice Dean of Tourism Faculty, University of Economics, University of Danang

I am senior lecturer of the University of Economics where I have worked as a lecturer since 1996. I graduated in 1994 and became apprentice lecturer in the same year. Two years after my graduation, I made the first Master and then, I finished the second Master in 2001. I got Ph.D title in 2014.

I experienced in lecturing of Principle Marketing, Service Marketing many years. But I have just participated in instructing Business communication recently. There were many challenges I have faced to. But I always enjoy improving the quality of my instruction for giving my students great values.  

 

AUNG WIN
Rector (Acting), University of Technology (Yatanarpon Cyber)

Aung Win, graduated B.E from Yangon Technological University in 2002 and graduated M.E and Ph.D in 2005 and 2009 from Moscow Institute of Electronic Technology (MIET), Russia. All degree specialized in ICT and research conducted in Analog-Digital Computing System. Served in Ministry of Science & Technology and Ministry of Education as a Head of Academic Department, Head of Research Department, Principal of Technological University and currently serving as a Acting Rector of UTYCC and can also call a founder of UTYCC. Also served as a Academic Leader for ICT area for developing, reviewing curriculum and syllabus for 33 Technological Universities.

 

TAT BUNSEANG
Head of Information Technology Office, USEA

For the past 3 years, he has been teaching Database Analysis and Programming Language for Desktop App and Web Development at University of South-East Asia, Siem Reap, Cambodia.

He believes that by applying the MS2W Toolkits in his teaching, his students will be ready for ASIAN workforce. What he likes most about the MS2W Toolkits, are POL and Participatory Learning, since the assignment for his teaching subjects is project-based.

 

CHUC HUU NGUYEN
Head of Department of International Relation and Research Management, Hue Industrial College

Chuc Huu Nguyen received the B.Sc degree in automatic control engineering from the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, in 2003 and the Ph.D. degree in engineering from the School of Mechanical Engineering, Sungkyunkwan University, Seoul, Korea, in 2009. Currently, he is Head of Department of Research Management and International Relationship and Vice Director of Research and Technology Transfer of Hue Industrial College (HueIC), Vietnam. His interests include: Organizing activities of research, technology transfer, and commercialization of scientific research results of HueIC lecturers and linking the activities of the laboratories, practicing workshops in HueIC with the enterprises.

 

PHAM BACH DUONG
HCMUTE Vietnam

Mr. Duong is currently the Vice Dean of Faculty for High Quality training and taking responsibility for engineering design and innovation training for engineering students. With over 15 years experience in teaching and consulting and 9 years in design and innovation, he has lead many student generation successfully in creating useful products and shaping student innovative mindset through many courses, extra-curricular activities and projects.

He is also a member of the Council for Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the south of Vietnam under Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry to foster student startup.

 

PARITTA PRAYOONYONG
Assistant professor, Department of Chemical Engineering, Mahidol University

Dr. Paritta Prayoonyong is an assistant professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Mahidol University. She has been teaching and doing research at Mahidol since 2010. Her recent and current research focuses on the development of design methodologies for separation processes, and the development of separation and purification processes for biofuel and lactic acid production. She has joined MekongSkills2Work project as a Lead Instructor and actively implemented MS2W sourcebook in her courses and chemical engineering program.

 

DR. NAW NAW
Assistant Lecturer, University of Technology (Yatanarpon Cyber City)

Naw Naw served as a Government staff in 2008. She studied Multi-agent system as a specialized field during her Master thesis. In 2010, she transferred to current university, UT (YCC) from University of Computer Studies (Mandalay). She finished her Ph.D research with the title of “Relevant words extraction method for recommendation system” in 2014. Her current research areas are sentiment level analysis of Myanmar language and emotional behavior analysis of social media data. Now, she is the work-based learning (WBL) coordinator of Myanmar in MekongSkills2Work network. She is the pioneer who takes the lead in her institution to show how WBL can be a way of giving students a hands-on experience or even career answers.

 

HO THI HANH TIEN
Administrator, Hue Industrial College

Dr. Ho Thi Hanh Tien serves as Dean of Foreign Languages, Administration and Tourism Faculty, Head of Soft Skills Department, and Director of Soft Skills and Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Center at Hue Industrial College, Vietnam. She has worked as a lecturer for over 20 years. She is currently an administrator of HueIC-MLC USAID COMET Project. She has published several book chapters and papers in vocational education, pedagogical practices and work

 

SOUNTHISAK PHOMMACHANH
Lecturer, Mechanical Engineering Department at the Faculty of Engineering at the National University of Laos

Dr. Sounthisack Phommachanh is the lead instructor of USAID project at NUOL, he holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Laos (2007) and both a Master’s Degree (2009) and Ph.D. (2014) in Mechanical Engineering from Bandung Institute of Technology in Indonesia. Through the USAID COMET program, Dr. Sounthisack has learned a lot and got more experience on the teaching with the new teaching method from source books. Moreover, he also adapts the source books to match with his teaching subjects.

 

DANG BAO LAM
Lecturer, Hanoi University of Science and Technology

Dang Bao Lam received the Eng. degree from Slovak University of Technology, the M.E. degree in Mechanics of Machines, and the D.Eng. degree in MEMS engineering from Hanoi University of Science and Technology. He has been a lecturer in a School of Mechanical Engineering - HUST since 2001. His research has focused on design of micro devices, machine and robot design. His current interests also include innovation in education, which brings him into this MekongSkills2Work network.

 

LENG SEAK
Executive Officer, Institute of Technology of Cambodia

Leng has been Executive officer of e-Learning Center of Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC). In 2014, she earned her two Bachelor degrees in Information Technology and Business Management from NUM and CamIU respectively and in 2016, Master Degree in Science of Mobile Development from ITC.

She has been involving in developing e-Learning programs for ITC since 2015 and has gotten many intensive training programs form ASEAN Cyber University in Korea and from University of Granada, Spain and other related programs in the region. She also got a Silver Medal from Cambodia National Business Model Competition in 2015 and went to Regional Competition level in Vietnam and then went to International level in Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, the Unite State of America in May, 2015.

Mr. Ramin Visvanichkul is currently in his fourth year in chemical engineering at Mahidol University. He has recently completed his internship with Chevron Thailand Exploration & Production, Ltd. He has not only achieve excellent academic performance but also involved himself in many student activities, e.g. being student representatives, arranging academic camps. In his fourth year, he has just started working in research in developing catalysts for methanol synthesis from carbon dioxide. He is excited to exploit his knowledge and experience gained from university by joining chemical industry after graduation.
