Overview of Institution and Motivation for Joining MS2W :

MU has its origins in the establishment of  Siriraj Hospital  in 1888. The hospital's medical school is the oldest institution of higher learning in Thailand and was renamed as Mahidol University in 1969. Since then MU has developed into one of the most prestigious universities in Thailand, internationally known and recognized for the high caliber of research and teaching by its faculty, and its outstanding achievements in teaching, research, international academic collaboration and professional services. The university now offers top quality multidisciplinary programs including medical, science, social and cultural fields, with the most doctoral programs of any institution in Thailand. MU has a strategy on transformative education since 2011 and one of the current MU strategies (2016-2019) is to be excellent globally in outcome-based education. MU has many instructors (full-time teachers) that already perform active learning, blended learning, workplace simulations scheme for decades. MU main campus is in Salaya – on the border between Bangkok and Nakhon Pathom, with 2 city campuses in Bangkok Noi and Phayathai and 3 provincial campuses in Kanchanaburi, Nakhon Sawan, and Amnaj Charoen.
